| The day started out rather dreary. I dont know... I've been kinda blah lately. But anyway, after loafing around my apt for a while, I finally ventured forth for a smoothie and a quick shopping trip. I was able to get some gasoline, visit Michael's and finally go to Longs Drugstore. Needless to say, my little foray into Glendale resulted in: some yarn to practice crocheting with, some Hawaiian Sun drinks, and Easter bunnies. :)
Longs was amazing!!! It was similar to Hawaii in its layout, but the percent of the store dedicated to non-drugstore things was much smaller. I really liked the little islands of merchandise in the aisles. Seriously, it felt like home and looked like home... like the Longs at Pearlridge or Salt Lake Shopping Center or off the Pali Highway.
I think part of my semi-depressive gloom has been because of homesickness. When things are busy in LA, and I'm consumed with schoolwork and work work and church stuff, I don't have much time to sit around and wish I were with my family back in the Islands. Instead, I'm praying to make it through one more week. But with Spring Break here, and a few of my classmates heading to Hawaii, and Daylight Savings, I certainly felt the distance between LA and Hawaii grow.
And don't even get me started talking about Daylight Savings Time. The "Spring Forward" has thrown off my inner, biological clock. I no longer have any idea what time it is, and I'm late even more often (and by much more time) than usual. Poor Garrett has had to listen to my complaining and griping for the past few days. I need to really get over it. With the Lord's help, all is possible, right?
Anyway, I've survived Spring Break. The Lord has been good to me. After reconciling with a friend last night, I remembered that when you do what God wants you to do, you feel 10 billion times better. Anyway, He's sent me friends to get hugs from and to cry with. He's sent me time to relax and Grey's to enjoy. I know that He is molding me and making me more like Him. I guess it doesnt really matter how far away from home I am or how blah I feel, because I KNOW that I will be OK, no... actually, way way way more than OK, and that He will always be with me.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)
P.S. Being that it's St. Patrick's Day, I've been reminiscing about celebrating with Tim's family and the trip to New York that a group of friends and I made two years ago. :) Those moments are priceless, guys! :) Thanks for the AWESOME memories! :) -- see my facebook for pics. :)

| Thank you for all the warm birthday wishes! :) You guys are so sweet! :)
I ended up not doing much for my bday. Wednesday, I got together with the women in my Bible Study... who are awesome! They surprised me with some mmmmm onolicious cupcakes baked by one of my friend's mother-in-law. Cupcakes complete with frosting and sprinkles... mmmm...
Monday, Garrett took me to the Grove for dinner. We ate at Wood Ranch... mmmmmm . I've never had barbecue like that before. Usually, I'm not that into slabs of beef, but that was one awesomely good tri-tip. In any case, it was a nice dinner, and Garrett and I finally celebrated a birthday at Wood Ranch. . - If you dont get that, let me know and I'll fill you in on a birthday party that I missed bc of a conference and a party planner who didnt want to have so many "No's" on his evite.
We rounded out the evening by calling my family. It was AWESOME... 3-way calling with my sister in Oregon and my mom and sisters in Hawaii... priceless moments, many laughs and mucho fun.
I really appreciated everyone who took the time to with me a Happy Birthday. I felt really loved by all of you. Usually, my bday falls even nearer (or on) Thanksgiving and is easily forgotten in the midst of the season. I hadnt really expected ppl to remember, so I'm really thankful for all of you who did. :)
Hope you guys had a blessed Monday and I pray that you'll have a great day today.

| Today, I heard the first Christmas song on the radio! :)
The Christmas season is finally upon us again. Usually, I would resent the early intrusion of Christmas... I mean, it's not even Thanksgiving yet! But this year, Garrett and I have decided to start celebrating the season 11 days early to compensate for the 11 days of Christmas season that we share together, because I fly home for Christmas with my family. So... in a moment of brilliance on Wednesday night, I proposed (and we agreed) to start the season early. Last night, we went out for our date night and ended up watching "Elf" together. :)
Now, I do wish KOST had waited until after Thanksgiving to start their Christmas music, but I can only be thankful for the additional early Christmas spirit. :)
